What's the difference between stripping and a scrub & re-coat?

Accepted Answer

Stripping removes every layer of old wax and sealer right down to the bare tile, then the floor is re-sealed and re-finished from scratch. A scrub and re-coat only removes the worn top layer and adds fresh coats over the sound finish underneath. Re-coating is faster and cheaper, so we recommend it whenever there's enough good finish left — and we'll tell you honestly which one your floor needs.

How often should commercial floors be stripped and waxed?

Most commercial floors need a full strip and wax every 12 to 24 months, depending on traffic. With a scheduled scrub-and-recoat program in between, many of our clients stretch that to three years or more. Heavy-traffic entrances and retail lanes usually need attention more often than back-of-house areas.

What types of flooring do you work on?

VCT (vinyl composition tile), vinyl, linoleum, terrazzo, sealed concrete, and most commercial hard flooring. During the walkthrough we identify exactly what you have and match the stripper, sealer, and finish to it — the wrong product on the wrong floor causes real damage.

Do you work after hours so our business isn't disrupted?

Yes — most of our work is done evenings, overnight, or on weekends. Floor finish needs uninterrupted cure time between coats, so working outside your operating hours produces a better result as well as keeping your doors open.

How much does floor stripping and waxing cost?

Pricing depends on square footage, flooring type, how many coats of old finish need to come off, and how much detail work the edges and corners need. We provide free written quotes with flat pricing and no hidden fees after a quick site walkthrough.

Yes. Returning customers and referrals receive 15% off their next service — whether that's a strip and wax, a refinish, or a scheduled maintenance visit.

We just had new flooring installed. Does it need anything?

Accepted Answer

It does, and this is the most commonly missed step in the trade. New tile arrives from the factory unsealed, and installers rarely finish it. Until it's sealed and coated, that porous surface absorbs dirt permanently. Sealing a new floor before the space opens is far cheaper than stripping ground-in soil out of it a year later.

What are your hours?

Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. On-site floor work is regularly scheduled outside those hours — evenings, overnight, and weekends — to fit around your business.
